What are the commonly used hash functions?

Keccak-f provides a high level of security through these steps. Squeezing phase:

Once all the input data blocks have been absorbed into the internal state, the sponge structure enters the squeezing phase. In this stage, parts of the internal state are progressively outputted as the result of the hash function. If the required output length exceeds the amount that can be squeezed out at once, the sponge structure applies the permutation function to transform the internal state again, then continues to output more data. This process is carried on until the desired output length is reached.
